The list of places where operatives can go for F Gas Training is expanding rapidly and training centres are offering a variety of ways of completing the assessment:
ACRIB has produced an F Gas Training List which you can download of the locations and types of training available together with links to the training providers. This will be updated regularly as new centres are approved.
Both City and Guilds and CITB have the new F Gas courses up and running in response the European Fluorinated Gases Regulations. These new qualifications allow operatives to carry out activities as specified in the Florinated Gases Regulations and Ozone Depleting Substances Regulations legally.
If you currently hold one of the older qualifications such as City and Guilds 2078 or CITB J01 Refrigerant Handling then you may continue to work temporarily but must have achieved the new qualification by 4th July 2011.
The ACRIB volutnary Register now recognises both of the new qualifications and operatives who complete the assessments can apply to join the Register here. The Register provides applicants with an ACRIB Registration Card which is increasingly being asked for by end users as a convenient way of checking qualifications.
