ACRIB F Gas Implementation Group is taking a lead on working with UK Government on the implementation of the European Fluorinated Gases Regulation which came into force on 4th July 2007. The requirements for leak checking procedures, labelling of new equipment, reporting of production and training and certification of individuals and companies have now been finalised by the Commission. The leak check procedure doucment agreed in October 2007 can be accessed below. The training and certification requirements were finalised by the Commission in Decmeber 2007 and the UK has developed new Handling Assessments based on these which will be delivered by City & Guilds and CITB aproved Centres. All those handling F Gas refrigerants will need to be re-qualified by 4th July 2011 to the new standards.
