How to Join
If you have already achieved a certificate of Refrigerant Handling competence you can apply to join the register now.
You will need all of the following. Cards will not be issued if applications are not complete:
- Your original refrigerant handling qualification certificate* (photocopies are NOT acceptable) .
- Two passport sized photos
- Your National Insurance Number
- The Registration fee of £40 including VAT at 17.5% made payable to ACRIB. (if you are registering more than 10 in one batch a discount fee of £35 per registration is available, there are special discounts for companies who are members of the REFCOM voluntary company environmental scheme when their application is processed by REFCOM find out more here)
Acceptable certificates* are:
- City and Guilds 2078 Refrigerant Handling issued before 9th March 2009 (for Ammonia Registration the 2077 is also acceptable)
- Valid CITB Refrigerant Handling J01 issued before 9th March 2009
- City and Guilds 2079 Part 1 F Gas and ODS qualification
- Valid CITB J11 F Gas Qualification
* Note: Current legislation requires that those involved in F Gas refrigerant work hold a current City & Guilds 2079pt1 or CITB J11 by 4thJuly 2011. If you do not currently hold one of these qualifications, but have an older City & Guilds 2078 or CITB Refrigerant Handling J01 you can still apply for ACRIB registration however the date of validity of your card for handling of F Gas refrigerants will be limited to 4th July 2011.
